The compnay had a mixed clinical trial data.. Does anyone think this is still a good stock to invest in?

Javelin Pharmaceuticals (JAV) has a new formulation of diclofenac called Dyloject that successfully completed two Phase III trials in the U.S. and is on the verge of being filed for approval, having their NDA filed shortly.
Priced in 1.50's
Estimates in 4's after approval

I jumped back into jav again the other day based on the hope that they will be bought out. Havent listen to todays CC but told the CEO alludes to buyout talks without directly saying it, up 8% today.

Anyone with anymore insight? I'll listen to the CC at some point.

This is from Wedbush's report put out Dec 2nd.

• Javelin announced this morning the submission of the Dyloject NDA for the management of acute moderate-to-severe pain in adults. While we are not sure what to make of a filing without a partner, we still view today’s news as a major positive for the company. Our sense is that either 1) discussions are still ongoing with potential suitors, but that management did not want to delay the filing anymore while continuing to pursue a collaboration (or a potential buy-out); or 2) the NDA may be the trigger needed to consummate a deal. Our sense is that Javelin is down to talking to less than a handful of companies and that those companies likely had a look at the NDA package before it went in and were able to review the comprehensiveness of the submission and the labeling that was proposed.

• Year-end deals are tough to come by, so we think there is a two week window to see an announcement or else we think there is a push back to January. Our sense is that a deal could be imminent (and hopefully in
the form or a take-out), but given where we are at year-end, we would anticipate an announcement would have to come within the next couple of weeks or else not until after the holidays. At this point we think investors clearly want to see a sale of the company and that anything different would cause weakness in the stock.

Well about 2 weeks after the last post a deal was struck with Myriad Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NasdaqGM: MYRX) acquiring Javelin Pharmaceuticals (Dec 18th, 2009). The orginal deal gives JAV holders 0.282 of a Myriad Share, in addition JAV holders would get 0.0246 shares of Myriad common stock if Dyloject is approved before 2011. After this deal came out the FDA sent JAV a October (2010) review date for Dyloject.

Current price of MYRX is $4.95, 8 cents off when the deal was published. under this deal JAV is worth $1.39 PPS, If Dyloject is approved before 2011the deal makes each JAV share worth $1.51

This deal is all upon approval by stockholders of both companies, the vote was expected to take place in the first Qrt. of 2010

What has changed since the deal was made.

A few things have changed since the deal was published back in December.

1. (FEB 17th 2010) As I stated before, JAV offical got a offical review date from the FDA for Dylojact in October of 2010.

2. (FEB 11th, 2010) A reexamination conducted by a third party of pain score measurements from its Phase III study of Ereska showed that it primary endpoint were statistically significant. Previously, Javelin had reported that the top line results for its primary endpoint were not statistically significant.

Today JAV is sitting at $1.42. In light of 2 news items listed above I expected a new deal will be reached with MYRX benefiting JAV holders or a new offer from a third party will be offered eclipsing MYRX's offer.

If the vote were to be held today MYRX shareholders would do so very quickly knowing the steal they have on their hands. No vote is schdule as I expect negotiations are ongoing about restructuring the deal.

Conclusion: This isn't going to be a multibagger but I expected the price (at current value) to increase no less than 30% in the next few weeks and if a third party offer comes in a 50% - 100% increase could easily be seen.

Been out for a few days but as I predicted last month a third party came in over the weekend with a new offer and the stock is up 50% from where it was. Hope some of you got in.

Nice call on Javelin Pharmaceuticals Inc, I was also watching this stock closely since the FDA accepted there nda, didn't want to jump in until the merger was approved but this was even better.
