I think TD Ameritrade is the best out there
they charge outrageous 10$ for commission but thats for anything you buy

that's really great when you compare buying penny stocks with other cheap traders

I use Bank Of America. I had sharebuilders but the fee's were too much. With bank of america only $10 flat fee and has OTC trading and pre and aftermarket trading.

I like Scottrade. My deposits usually are in my account the next morning.

    Trades are very fast also.....

    Default Etrade over Scottrade

I use both, and have to say I like Etrade over Scottrade.

Etrade charges less for my trading style, which is over 20+ trades in a quarter. Scottrade charges proportionately with the number of shares you trade, whereas Etrade has a flat fee of $9.99. Also, Scottrade doesn't allow many of the OTC to be traded online, forcing you to call them to place an order. Etrade allows most of the OTC stocks to be traded online without having to go through any representative.

    Default SogoTrade

Anyone have any experience with this one? Have not heard much about them, but the $3 for unlimited trades intrigues me.

I currently have Scottrade, which I have to say am quite pleased with so far. I haven't encountered any problems with trading OTC's yet (guess I go lucky on my picks) and my trades are executed quickly. I don't like how they won't let you set conditional orders for stocks under $1 and their charting won't let you change color (background, foreground, etc.). But otherwise easy to use and well organized site.

    Default why is etrade 3rd?

Okay, so I'm a somewhat new to all of this, but...

I'm somewhat surprised that Scottrade is ranked above etrade, and by that margin. I've heard some negative stuff about them (execution times and such).

Now, I'm a so-termed "power trader" on etrade and my commisions are $9.99, two bucks more that scottrade - somewhat negligible when I'm only doing thirty trades a quarter. I'm still trying to get my head around all of the charts, graphs, etc. but I find them pretty impressive.

So, I guess my question is whether people have tried other brokers and settled on scottrade or did you (they) start there and not leave?

PS- I use Sharebuilder for slow motion trading and etrade for the more volatile stuff.

    Thanks,

    Scott
